Japan's Kansai Airport welcomes first direct flight from Vietnam
The new-age carrier Vietjet’s first ever flights connecting Vietnam and Japan were made yesterday on a new route linking Hanoi with Osaka (Japan), which is expected to further boost tourism and trade integration between the two countries and across the region.
After the inaugural flight from Hanoi touched down in Kansai International Airport in Osaka this morning, a special celebration was held, featuring the “Kagami Biraki” (literally, “Opening the Mirror”), a Japanese tradition performed for opening ceremonies.
Later on, passengers onboard Vietjet’s debut flight from Osaka to Hanoi were treated to outstanding Vietnamese folk dance performances, which showcased Vietnamese culture to all international passengers — and especially Japanese ones travelling to Vietnam right onboard Vietjet’s inaugural flight.
Besides, all passengers onboard both inaugural flights received charming souvenirs from representatives of Vietjet’s management.
Using Vietjet’s new and modern A321neo aircraft, the Hanoi-Osaka route operates a return flight on a daily basis with a flight time of more than four hours per leg. A flight departs Hanoi each day at 1.40am and arrives in Osaka at 7.50am.
Coming in the other direction, the flight takes off in Osaka at 9.20am and lands in Hanoi at around 1.05pm (all local times). Vietjet’s new service to Osaka brings the airline’s total number of international routes up to 64 with a network that spans to 11 countries.
The airline will soon launch two other routes to Japan from Vietnam including Ho Chi Minh City-Osaka (Kansai) route from December 14, 2018 and Hanoi-Tokyo (Narita) route from January 11, 2019.
To celebrate these debut flights on the Hanoi- Osaka route, Vietjet has hosted a mega-promotion over ‘three golden days’ on November 7- 9, 2018 with 10,000 promotional tickets priced only from zero dollar (excluding taxes and fees). Booking can be made at any time at www.vietjetair.com. The promotional tickets are applied for all three of Vietjet’s new international routes to Japan.
Promotional tickets are available via sales channels at all hours on website www.vietjetair.com, (also compatible with smartphones at https://m.vietjetair.com) or www.facebook.com/vietjetvietnam (just click the “Booking” tab).
Payment can be easily made with international debit and credit cards, including Visa/ MasterCard/ AMEX/ JCB/ KCP/Union; or with any ATM card issued by 34 Vietnamese banks and registered with internet banking.
The Osaka-Hanoi route is also the first service that Vietjet and Japan Airlines offer as code-share flight. The two airlines have also offered code-share flights on other Vietjet’s domestic routes, including Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi – Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang.
