HCMC, South Korea’s Jeju Island to have joint tourism pact

A road show to promote tourism on Jeju Island in South Korea was held in Ho Chi Minh City on February 28.

A delegation led by Woo Keun Min, province Governor, and representatives of Jeju Tourism Organisation and other travel companies, held discussions for four days with local tourist companies in Ho Chi Minh City.

The tourism programme to promote Jeju Island without the mandatory entry-visa has attracted a huge number of Vietnamese visitors.

The HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jeju Tourism Organisation to promote tourism activities and attract tourists from both sides.

In addition, Jeju Air of South Korea will open a new route linking Seoul and Ho Chi Minh City, flying every night from April 5.

The new service will depart from Incheon International Airport at 8.05 p.m. to arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City by 11.20 p.m. local time.  The return flight will leave Ho Chi Minh City at 0. 20 a.m. and arrive at Incheon Airport at 7.25 a.m. Flight schedules are available on website www.jejuair.net.
