HCM City welcomes its 7 millionth foreign tourist

The Department of Tourism of HCMC, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA), Tan Son Nhat Airport and Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs Sub-department on December 10 held a ceremony welcoming the 7 millionth international visitor to the city.

The 7 millionth visitor, Tissot Jean-Claude; the 6,999,999th and the 7,000,001 are passengers of the VN10 flight from France. 
The lucky visitors received a city tour, a package of health services and a collection of lacquer paintings.
The 7 millionth visitor got a free Vietnam Airlines business class ticket, and two visitors that arrived in HCMC right before and immediately after the 7 millionth visitor received free Vietnam Airlines economic class tickets.
The ceremony is one of the activities celebrating the 320th anniversary of Saigon-HCMC (1698-2018).
On this occasion, the municipal Department of Tourism has offered the tourism promotion program from December to the end in 2019 and 8 tours to popular historical sites, such as Ho Chi Minh City Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedra, Binh Tay market, Ho Chi Minh City Museum and among.
The city's Department of Culture and Sport has cooperated with relevant units to organize fine arts and photo exhibitions, seminars on the city’s international integration and its modernization process, a contest learning about the founding of the city.
One of the highlight events is a festival themed “Sai Gon – HCM City- 320-year Aspiration for Rising Highly” that will take place in Nguyen Hue walking street and Bach Dang pier.
The city’s tourism sector expects to attract 8-8.5 million international tourists in 2019.
