Cultural, tourism events mark National Day celebration

A series of cultural activities for celebrating national day are being held in many entertainment areas in Ho Chi Minh City.

The city is planning two spectacular firework displays on September 2 to commemorate August Revolution and the 70th anniversary of National Day.

The fireworks will be set off next Thu Thiem Tunnel in District 2 and at the Dam Sen Park in District 11. Local residents and visitors can watch the display inside the park.

The firework displays will begin at 9.15 pm September 2 and be broadcast live at HTV9.

Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the 23/9 (September 23rd) Park, processing zones and industrial parks will welcome special music performances by famous singers on September 2.

Dam Sen Cultural Park and Suoi Tien Tourist Area and Dai Nam Tourist Site are offering attractive promotional programs such as interesting games, music shows and performances of short comedy skits.

This year's National Day will fall on a Wednesday and people will have only one day off. Routes to the nearby provinces are expected to attract a large number of tourists, according to travel companies, such as Vam Sat Ecological Tourist Site and 30/4 (April 30) beach in Can Gio District, tourist areas Suoi Mo, Binh Quoi, Van Thanh, Vuon Co and Cu Chi Tunnels in the suburbs of the city.

One-day tours to tourist sites Thuy Chau, Giang Dien, Bo Cap Vang, Cat Tien National Park, An Binh, Dao Dua Lu islet, Buu Long, Thac Mai (Mai falls), Bau Nuoc Soi, Ba Den Moutain in Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Vinh Long, Tay Ninh provinces are also other choices.

The central coastal city of Da Nang will host Da Nang International Light Festival (DILF) 2015 on September 4-6. The event will take place on Bach Dang Street stretching from Dragon Bridge to the Han River port area.

The main content of the event will include light areas, Video Mapping, light art presentations, LED decoration, music and light performances, interactive light art and street light performances, and electronic music.

DILF 2015 will include an array of cultural and sporting activities such as a firework display on the Han River, street art performances, art exchanges and a gala dinner.
