Central region sees sharp rise of tourists

A large number of visitors flocked to Hoi An ancient town and Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve on Reunification & Labor public holidays.

Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Thuy, head of the Hoi An Tourism and Trade Department of the central province of Quang Ngai disclosed that more than 9,000 holidaymakers visited Hoi An from April 30 to May 2.

Restaurants and tourist services worked overtime to cope with the crowds.

Meanwhile, Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2011 attracted around 300,000 visitors, a year-on-year increase by three times.

In addition, over 26,000 people came to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, a World Natural Heritage Site in Quang Binh province.
