Can Tho expects to welcome 8 million tourists in 2018, including 350,000 international travelers and 2.45 million long-stay holiday makers; and earn a total revenue of VND3,500 billion, said Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, Le Minh Son at the conference reviewing the city’s tourism industry in 2017.
Can Tho City has carried out measures to develop tourism, such as inesting and upgrading destinations, Cai Rang floating market, waterway tours, Can Tho walking bridge, Hau River park, park along Ninh Kieu pier, traditional craft vilages and among.
A series of activities, including Tan Loc islet’s garden fruit festival, Cai Rang floating market cultural festival, Ninh Kieu lantern night, Phong Dien ecological tourist day, O Mon tourist and culture day will be organized this year to attract more visitors to Can Tho.
The city now sees 54 travel agents, 270 accomodation units with 6,931 rooms and 26 tourist gardens.
