Ministry of Defense in collaboration with Binh Thuan People’s Committee held a ground- breaking ceremony for construction of Phan Thiet Airport at Thien Nghiep commune in Binh Thuan province on January 18.

Phan Thiet Airport covers an area of 543 hectares, including 150 hectares for military area and 283, 5 hectares for civil aviation area, built in the form of Build-Transfer (BT) and Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT).
Accordingly, Phan Thiet airport is the first domestic airport, which was built following the BOT model.
Rang Dong Joint Stock Company will invest VND 1, 700 billion for the construction of civil aviation area, including the area of aircraft parking, technology, trade and traffic system.
Phan Thiet Airport is expected to be completed in 2018.
