Binh Thuan prevents tourists from sea bathing in bad weather

Following the fatal incident in La Gi town causing four travelers dead, two others missing and many people injured, Binh Thuan province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism today sent a dispatch to relevant agencies asking them to prevent people from sea bathing amid bad weather.

The authority ordered tourism agents and management boards to check rescue equipment to replace new ones in order to ensure rescue work. Moreover, rescuers must be ready to do their task when there is an incident of drowning.
Additionally, competent agencies should tell holiday-makers about weather condition advising them not to sea bath to reduce drowning-related deaths.
As newspaper published, ten people of a tourist group from the southern province of Binh Duong were swept away by huge waves. Consequently, four were dead, two missing and five got injured.
Five injured people were recovering, said physicians of the local medical infirmary.
La Gi town People’s Committee is still guiding rescuers to search for the two missing. Chairman of La Gi town People’s Committee Pham Trong Nhan gave certificates of merit and an award of VND2 million to brave men who jumped to the sea to rescue tourists. Brave men were Dat Lanh resort employee Nguyen Minh Tam who had been swept away and died too, vice director of Dat Lanh Ngo Thai Thuong Dung, employees Van Duy Truong, Truong Minh, Nguyen  Van Dung and local Nguyen Cong Duc.
