Airlines cancel flights ahead of Typhoon Tembin

Carriers announced they have planned to remove a large number of flights to Phu Quoc and Con Dao islands as Typhoon Tembin hit the East Sea on the night of December 23 and moving towards the southern region within 2-3 days.

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has just announced that it will stop exploiting all flights from 12.40 pm.m to 8.30 p.m. on Hanoi/HCM City - Phu Quoc route, including VN1236, VN1237, VN1826, VN1827, VN1828 and VN1829; and aircrafts from Hanoi to Can Tho, consisting of VN1204 and VN1205. These flights are expected to be taken off on December 26.
VNA will change its flight departure or arrival times from/to Tan Son Nhat Airport between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. on December 25 as the hurricane approaches land.
Due to the bad weather, Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) has canceled 16 flights on HCM City-Con Dao (0V8077/8076/8055/8054/8053/8052/8079/8078/ 8059/8058/8073/8072), Can Tho-Phu Quoc (0V8014/8015) and Con Dao-Can Tho (0V8071/8070) routes from 8.45 a.m. to 3.25 p.m.
The budget airline Jetstar Pacific has also announced it is cancelling a number of flights from/to Tan Son Nhat and Phu Quoc airports.
Meanwhile low-cost carrier Vietjet Air also stops exploiting some domestic flights on December 25, including VJ465/VJ466 on Hanoi-Can Tho-Hanoi route, VJ701/VJ464 on Da Nang-Can Tho-Hanoi route, VJ457/VJ456 on Hanoi-Phu Quoc-Hanoi route, VJ331/VJ330/VJ327/VJ326 on HCMC – Phu Quoc-HCMC.
Carriers notify passengers to access their websites, or contact the ticket offices of the airlines throughout the country for further information about flight delay or cancellation.
