ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) yesterday announced seeding groups for AFF Cup 2016 before the qualifiers of the tournament will be held in October.
Accordingly, co-hosted countries Myanmar and Philippines stand the first group while Thailand and Malaysia are ranked the second group.
Vietnam and Singapore are listed in the Third group. Indonesia and the football team ranking the first position of qualification round this year will be in the fourth group.
An official drawing ceremony of AFF Cup 2016 will be hosted in Myanmar on August 2.
Cambodia were named as hosts for the qualification tournament The top seven teams at the 2014 AFF Cup including the qualifiers, automatically qualifies for the final round. Myanmar and the Philippines automatically qualify to the final round as hosts. Accordingly, the qualification tournament will take place in Cambodia in October with four teams from Laos, East Timor, Cambodia and Brunei.
The group stages of the Championships will officially take place in Myanmar and Philippines from November 19.
