Vietnam have won 11 silver medals and 11 bronze medals at the 16th Asian Games (ASIAD) after eight days of competition, ranking 20th in the medal tally by November 20.
Nguyen Thanh Bao on November 19 earned a silver medal, the 11th silver medal to Vietnam’s medal tally, in the men’s chess individual event.
Taekwondo event finished yesterday but Vietnamese team did not take more medals. Taekwondo team just brought home one silver medal and three bronze medals, failing to meet its target at the ASIAD.
In volleyball event, men team were eliminated from ASIAD after losing Myanmar.
On Nov. 19, Vietnam bagged a silver medal in the four-member women team’s rowing, a silver medal in chess and a bronze in women’s sepak takraw.

China still is in the lead with 138 gold medals, followed by the Korea with 52 gold medals and Japan with 28 gold medals.
Thailand on November 20 bagged six gold medals, helping the country rank the 6th place at ASIAD.
