Vietnam won 3-2 over Thailand in the first round match of the ASEAN Under-19 Football Championship in Indonesia on September 10.
The victory placed Vietnam in the second place for Group B, behind the host who defeated Brunei 4-0 in a later match.
Vietnam will next meet Malaysia on September 12.
The championship lures all 11 members of the ASEAN region. The teams will be divided into two groups. Two best teams of each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The final match is scheduled on September 22
