Thanks to Viet Nam’s Chinese Coach Chen Yun Fat replacing Ngoc Cham with Kim Chi as the striker in lineup, the players became stronger and smarter in both teamwork and strategy.

In the first half, Viet Nam mostly mastered all attacks they faced. In the 36th minute, striker Kim Chi suddenly charged the net with a straight hard kick, pressuring Shandong’s keeper Zhang Tao into a painful wheeling, revolving block.

In the second half, Shandong took full advantage of their physical strength in their stormy retaliatory attacks, unleashing all their powers against Viet Nam in order to even the score.

Shandong’s player Ding Mimi suddenly made a speedy free shot at the Viet Nam net in the 53rd minute but goalkeeper Kieu Trinh immediately rushed forward to block it.

After a sudden goal, Viet Nam’s players flocked to the competitor’s side and tried finishing with a hard strike from 30m but missed.

The second half finished in a draw. The board of referees decided on a penalty shootout.

Viet Nam’s nearly missed its gold cup when both Van Thi Thanh and striker Kim Chi failed at their penalty kicks and Shandong bettered the score to 2-0.

However, hope came back to Viet Nam when the result returned to draw with the excellent work of keeper Kieu Trinh blocking two kicks and three scores by other players.

Sudden death came to Shandong due to a successful straight shot from 11m by Viet Nam player Kim Hong. The final score was 4-3.
