A young chess player Nguyen Quoc Hy has grabbed a silver medal in the age standard chess category U10 of the 2016 World Youth Chess Championship.

Nine chess players of Vietnam participated in the sport event, including Ngo Duc Tri, Nguyen Huynh Minh Thien, Nguyen Quoc Hy, Vo Pham Thien Phuc, Dang Anh Minh, Vu Bui Thanh Van, Nguyen Hong Nhung, Nguyen Thu An and Vu My Linh.
The closing ceremony yesterday took place in Georgia, a southeastern U.S. state.
Earlier, a female chess player Nguyen Le Cam Hien won gold medal in the 2015 World Youth Chess Championship.
