Le Van Cong conquered an impressive achievement of 183.5 kilogram after four- time weight-lifting to break the world record in the men’s 49 kilograms weight class.

It is the first gold medal of Vietnam delegation at the para sport event.

The silver and bronze medals respectively belonged to Omar Qarada (Jordan) and Adesokan Yakubu (Nigeria).

The weightlifter had ever won gold medal at the 2016 Paralympic Games. Thus, this is the two consecutive years that the athlete protected his achievement.

The 2017 World Para Powerlifting and Swimming Championships is taking place in Mexico and scheduled to end on December 8.
