Thien Mon Dao, which means “the way to the heaven's gate,” has been practiced by the residents of Hoa Nam Commune since the 18th century. It has become famous for some excellent skills, including pulling a 5-tonne van by a rope tied to teeth, 8-mm nail going gradually into the performer’s chest and being pulled back out, and especially levitation.

Since it was first created, the art has contributed a lot to the common sport activities and to the sport performances of Ha Tay Province.

Ha Tay province officials expect that Thien Mon Dao artists will help residents improve not only their health, but also their intelligence. This is also considered a way to preserve the national character.
