V-League champions Dong Tam Long An arrived in Jinan, Shandong on Sunday evening to prepare for their Group G AFC Champions League match against the local side Shandong Luneng tomorrow.
Portuguese coach Henrique Calisto told local reporters that the host side was too strong for his team so his hope was to eke out a draw.
Injury forced Calisto to leave Brazilian striker Antonio at home and replace him with Kabange Tshamala from Congo.
The host side has a perfect record after the first two matches with victories over Adelaide United (1-0) and Seongnam Ilhwa (2-1) while Dong Tam Long An has yet to score a point in this year’s competition.
It’s a similar situation in the national V-League, where the southern club has been four matches without a win following the nil-all draw with Dong Thap on Saturday.
