The software vOCS 3.0 is the only Vietnamese information technology product that has the honor to receive such a prestigious award, alongside Ooredoo of Qatar with its worldwide fastest speed 5G service, Singtel of Singapore with its interactive automatic selling system, Telkom of Indonesia with its mobile phone app to automatically navigate locations for naval ships.

Viettel’s vOCS 3.0 is highly appreciated thanks to its creativity and effectiveness to all users as it can be customized to suit each customer’s specific needs. At the moment, it is in use in 11 nations, possessing around 170 million mobile subscribers.

Having a large capacity, each site of vOCS 3.0 is able to serve a maximum of 100 million subscribers and design one specific charge package for each user, which has never been done by any Online Charging System (OCS) before in the world.

As stated by Ms. Clara Im, Communications Director for Asia of International Business Stevie Awards, the judging board all had very positive and impressive comments on Viettel’s product, saying that it has shown thoughtful ideas of Viettel’s researchers and software developers in tackling one major issue in the telecommunications field – hesitation among data service providers in unifying or integrating voice and data into one online charging system.

It is reported that Viettel’s vOCS 3.0 has finished its support on the Cloud/NFV platform for next version vOCS 4.0, which will introduce many new features on Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Network Slicing, as well as be ready to calculate charge for IoT/5G subscribers.

When being launched the new version 4.0 will turn Vietnam into one of the few countries in the world that can create OCS to support the state-of-the-art virtualization technology to save overhead cost and ease the task of management. Therefore, Viettel has already sent bidding invitations to more than 30 international telecommunications carriers with the aims to expand its market to Asian regions like Indonesia, the Philippines, Pakistan.
