The Military Telecommunications Corporation (Viettel) is in a rush to survey and install new base transceiver stations (BTS) on islands and border areas.
Accordingly, apart from Phu Quoc Island in southern Kien Giang Province, Cat Ba Island in Hai Phong and the Huu Nghi border gate in northern Lang Son Province, Viettel will install over 100 BTSs on all islands in Viet Nam including Bach Long Vi, Ly Son, Cu Lao Cham, Con Dao, Co To, and in districts and communes along the border, including Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dac Lac, Binh Phuoc in mid-2006.
With 3,000 BTS in 2006, Viettel is covering 100% of districts and communes in Viet Nam.
