Singapore expands GIA to HCMC

Enterprise Singapore, the state unit under the Singaporean Ministry of Trade and Industry, officially announced the expansion of the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to boost startup activities between Singapore and Vietnam.

This expansion aims at connecting Singaporean technology startups to Vietnamese partners and giving way for the approach of Singaporean businesses to the Vietnamese innovative market. It is supposed to establish intern exchange opportunities for students of both nations.

“Vietnam is a very dynamic and potential market to all small-middle scale technology enterprises (SME)”, affirmed Mr. Png Cheong Boon, CEO of Enterprise Singapore.

In the event, Enterprise Singapore, Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) – a member of the HCMC Department of Science and Technology, and Quest Ventures signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost the cooperation of startups and SME between both countries. Accordingly, the three partners are going to co-organize various programs to introduce Singaporean startups to the HCMC startup ecosystems as well as Vietnamese partners, investors, and customers.

According to Mr. Huynh Kim Tuoc, CEO of SIHUB, the collaboration between the three is the optimized method for human resources to create more products and services in the future.
