Saigon Hi-Tech Park sees a record investment amount of US$1.89 billion

Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) attracted 10 projects worth US$1.89 billion in 2014. It is the biggest-ever investment capital in the technology area, said Dr Le Hoai Quoc, head of the SHTP.

Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) attracted 10 projects worth US$1.89 billion in 2014. It is the biggest-ever investment capital in the technology area, said Dr Le Hoai Quoc, head of the SHTP.

The export value of high-tech product reached US$3.126 billion, accounting for 90 percent of the city’s export value of high-tech product in last year; and is expected to attain US$3.3 billion in 2015.

Saigon Hi-Tech Park in 2015 will concentrate on finishing infrastructures to serve projects in the zone, including the US$1-billion project of Samsung.

According to Vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Le Manh Ha, SHTP should have a lot of investment in research activities and cultivating high tech firms as well as creating favorable conditions for local and foreign enterprises.

SHTP Management Board has also cooperated with the Netherlands Company Fab Max B.V on the training of semi-conductor personnel under the auspice of the Netherlands Government.
