Receipt printer to be installed at petrol stations

The Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality under the Ministry of Science and Technology has just issued a guiding document for petrol station owners to install receipt printers onto fuel dispensers at their stations.

Receipt printer to be installed at petrol stations

Accordingly, from July 1, 2018, all fuel dispensers at petrol stations need to have a receipt printer available to deliver receipts to customers on request. This requirement abides by Paragraph 7 of Article 6 in Circular No.15/2015/TT-BKHCN issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

One receipt printer can be shared among many fuel dispensers at one fuel station provided that this sharing does not cause any confusion to customers.

Regarding fuel dispensers that are in use but have not had any receipt printer installed, owners of petrol stations have to contact oil companies and fuel dispenser manufacturers or importers they are working with to begin the installation process.

In case that the fuel dispenser manufacturers or importers were bankrupt or could not answer the installation request, fuel station owners need to contact any organization that they consider technologically capable of carrying on this action. This organization will then upgrade the dispenser, set up compatible printers,  and inspect everything in accordance with the laws.
