Participants clearly stated the critical position of science and technology to the national development, saying that there is no other way but to focus on innovation, green and sustainable growth in accordance with Industry 4.0. This is a perfectly suitable time for breakthroughs in certain hi-tech fields for Vietnam to become one of the global giants.

Therefore, it is necessary to prioritize science-technology development and innovation through research and implementation, especially among the private sector. Domestic human resources training is also a vital action to form a smart leading team for the Vietnamese economy.

Proposals were raised on the concentration to social and cultural issues, particularly on human values, since the social stability leads to economic growth.

After listening to suggestions from scientists, Prime Minister Phuc stated that despite certain problems that need to be addressed soon, in general, the domestic social and economic status is quite positive.

“The risk of being left behind is high if we do not strive to upgrade ourselves and construct a better country”, shared the PM. He strongly believed that the close collaboration of all citizens will help Vietnam to overcome all possible challenges and brilliantly develop in the upcoming time.

Prime Minister Phuc also acknowledged that science-technology, innovation, and human value promotion do be the power for a quicker and more sustainable national growth.

He said that this meeting and its report is only the initial step, and will be followed by other similar conference to arouse more useful ideas from scientists.

“We need to actively obtain new knowledge, to timely correct mistakes, to effectively preserve our moral and cultural values, and to purposely upgrade our ability as well as efficiency in order to become the winner”, concluded the Prime Minister.

Following this meeting, the Standing Committee of the Economic and Social Subcommittee is going to assign certain scientists to further research on their corresponding topics.

Before this event, the Prime Minister attended other meetings with several regions, including Ho Chi Minh City and some southern areas, Hanoi and its 12 neighboring areas, also to collect ideas for the above strategy and plan.
