HCMC signs cooperation programs with Science & Technology Ministry

A signing ceremony about cooperation program between the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and Ministry of Science and Technology for the 2017- 2020 period has just been held in the city.

The cooperation program included contents as building regulations in combination with instruction and issuing pilot mechanisms and policies to timely solve obstacles; boosting science and technology sector; building potential cooperative programs in the science and technology sector between Hoa Lac high-tech industrial park and Saigon hi-tech industrial park, especially in high-tech human resources training cooperation, management and technology transfer to ultimate both sides’ strengths; developing information center for science & technology under HCMC Science & Technology Department; creating conditions to connect research institute systems and universities with advanced information infrastructure of science and technology and others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong of HCMC People's Committee stressed that the science and technology sector is not only one of the city’s nine major services but also a foundation for the city's economic development in line with the fast digital integration.

The chairman also believed that the signing contributes to open new cooperative potentialities, effectively in exploiting human resources and to solve local people’s concerns.

On the same day, National University of Ho Chi Minh City and Ministry of Science and Technology co-signed a cooperation agreement about science research and technological transfer under its target of successfully complete science & technology development strategy in 2011- 2020 which approved by the Government, aiming to contribute to develop HCMC National University as the leading university of ASEAN.
