Currently, water levels on the Nine Dragons River and Saigon River are rising rapidly because of the influence of flood tide.
The highest water level reached at 1.79 meters at Tan Chau Station on the Tien River, surged to 1.87 meters at Chau Doc Station on the Hau River and at 1.43 meters at Phu An Station on the Saigon River early morning.
In the next couple days, water levels on the Nine Dragons River and Saigon River are expected to continue rising rapidly because of an influence of the high flood tide.
From January 3-4, the highest water level will surge to 1.96 meters at Tan Chau Station on the Tien River, 2.02 meters at Chau Doc Station on the Hau River, and 0.1- 0.2 meter at Phu An Station on the Saigon River, falling on 5AM-7AM and 6PM-8PM.
Flooding and landslide are warned to occur in lowlands near rivers in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Gio District and Vinh Long provinces.
The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center reported that the northwestern provinces have experienced the damaging cold with the lowest temperature at 12- 17 degrees Celsius and air humidity of 60- 97 percent.
The northeastern region has faced deep cloud, showery weather, slight fog and wind, air humidity of 62- 97 percent and the lowest temperature of 15- 18 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the southern provinces has suffered circus cloud, small rainfall, powerful wind of level 2-3, air humidity of 57- 95 percent and the lowest temperature of 22- 25 degrees Celsius.
