Typhoon Sanba approaching East Sea

According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, tropical typhoon Sanba is approaching the East Sea.

Sanba was centered at around 7 degrees north latitude and 130.5 degrees east longitude, at around 470 kilometers of the eastward of the southern territorial water of the Philippines at 4pm yesterday. The strongest wind near the center gusted 60- 75 kilometers an hour. 

By 4pm today, its eye is expected to be at 9.1 degrees north latitude and 118.5 degrees east longitude of the eastward of the Philippines’s Palawan Island. The maximum wind near the center could blow at level 8.

The tropical typhoon is predicted to be at around 340 kilometers of the east- northeastward of the Spratly Islands with its wind of level 8-11 at 4pm tomorrow. 

Vice Director of the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center Mr. Le Thanh Hai said that Sanba would weaken into a tropical low pressure system with its sustainable wind of level 8 after it enters the Spratly Islands. 

In order to actively cope with the weather situation, the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and the National Committee for Search and Rescue asked the steering committees in the affected provinces and cities from Da Nang to Kien Giang, relevant ministries and agencies to timely provide the location of the typhoon to fishing vessels in sea
