Tropical low-pressure zone appears in East Sea

A low pressure trough in combination with wind convergence caused the long- lasting torrential rains in the Northern provinces, reported the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center.

The latest weather news showed that a new low pressure zone yesterday appeared in the East Sea. Its eye was located at 13.5- 14.5 degrees north latitude and 112- 113 degrees east longitude.

Currently, the pressure system has moved towards the north and the southern territorial water of the Paracel Islands at 5- 10 kilometers an hour. 

In next 24- 48 hours, it is predicted to move at 10 kilometers an hour of the northwestwards; and will develop into a tropical low- pressure system.

Because of its influence, the southwest monsoon will operate strongly in the south, causing medium- heavy rains as well as affecting to the weather condition of the central and the northern region.  

The weather center said that the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri, the southern and Central Highlands region will continue suffering medium- heavy rains in next couple of days.
