Tropical low depression causes heavy rain in north

According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, a tropical low depression hitting the East Sea yesterday landed the seashore provinces from Quang Ninh to Hai Phong, causing heavy rains on the large scale in the northern region.

The Bach Long Vi and Co To Islands saw powerful wind of level 6-8 while maximum wind in the northern provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh and Nam Dinh gusted at level 6-7. 

Today, the tropical low depression was expected to weaken into a low pressure zone, enter the mainland and continue causing small- medium rain. 

Dealing with the natural disaster, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention co-held a meeting to instruct the affected localities to quickly move vessels out of the dangerous zone. 

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center also warned that landslide and flashflood are forecast to hit the northern provinces from Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang. 

General Directorate of Irrigation under the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry asked departments of agriculture and rural development from Ha Giang to Nghe An to help local people overcome consequences after typhoon Doksuri. 

Today, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City was forecast to have cirrus cloud, rain and thunderstorm. The highest temperature in the area can keep at 33 degrees Celsius.
