Torrential rain sinks HCMC

A heavy rain and strong wind coincided in many districts of Ho Chi Minh City, causing serious flooding in many routes in the evening of July 19.

The unexpected downpour swept through districts of 1,2,3,5,7,9,10,12 and Go Vap, Thu Duc, Binh Thanh at 5pm yesterday. 

Due to the highest rainfall, the traffic was slow at rush hour, even many vehicles suffered from engine failure in the water. 
The Southern regional Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center said that powerful operation of the southwest monsoon would continue bringing small- heavy rain in both the southern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City during the week.
The highest rainfall in the areas is predicted to reach up to 10-30 mm.
