Thao River water level rises, flooding to occur: NCHMF

The National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting issued its latest weather forecast that tonight September 1, the water levels on Thao River in Yen Bai is expected to reach at 11.70m, above warning level three.

The center warned tomorrow the water levels on the rivers of Thao, Cau, Thuong will reach at 29.70m; 4.3m respectively, at warning level one.

The water level on Ca River at Nam Dan will be below 5.6m. However the center said flash floods will continue to occur in the northern mountainous region and north central region including the provinces of Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.

The lowland areas in the central provinces of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa will experience flooding.

In addition, flash floods in the northern mountainous region will appear therefore local authorities need to eye on weather forecast to take necessary measures to prevent the disaster.
