Amid to the current complicated rain and flood, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung chaired a meeting to check water level at the Hoa Binh and Son La Hydropower Plants.
In recent two days, the National Steering Committee on Natural Prevention asked the Son La and Hoa Binh Hydropower Companies to open reservoir doors to control as well as balance the stream flow, protecting reservoirs and downstream rivers.
Water level at the Son La reservoir slowly reduced at 0.5 meter a day after two- day water discharge.
At the meeting, Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung certified specific and effective measures of the National Steering Committee on Natural Prevention in ensuring absolute safety of local reservoirs, hydropower constructions and downstream rivers in previous days.
The leader also required Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to constantly eye water level as well as check on local reservoirs, dyke systems and agricultural production in the low lands to limit unexpected damages.
Besides that, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Vietnam Electricity had to ensure enough power supply for life and production.
The National Committee for Search and Rescue needed to timely send functional forces and support vehicles in the case of the bad situation.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong and leaders of the People’s Committee of Hanoi and Vietnam Electricity came in the area of Duong Bridge to direct measures dealing with flood discharge.
