North to face cold air and rainy weather on March 8

A cold air and drizzling rainfalls are expected to hit the northern and the central regions of Vietnam from March 8-9, reported the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center yesterday.

In recent days, an extreme heat wave hit the northwestern region with the highest temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, even exceed 35 degrees Celsius in some places such as Muong La (Son La), Yen Chau (Son La), Mai Chau (Hoa Binh), Phu Yen (Son La), Van Chan (Yen Bai), Lac Son (Hoa Binh)…

The maximum temperature in capital of Hanoi maintained at 30 degrees Celsius. 

In next couple days, temperature in the northern provinces is forecast to slightly decrease, and small rainfalls and fog maybe appear in the mornings. 

By the midnight of March 7, a cold air is warned to spread out the northern region and the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien- Hue, causing shower and thunderstorm on the large scale. 

Because of its influence, the high mountainous areas are going to face a damage cold; and temperature in the mid- central provinces will drop down. 

The lowest temperature in the north could drop down 15- 18 degrees Celsius, and at below 12 degrees Celsius in the high mountainous areas. 

Meanwhile, the hot air mass is predicted to cover Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region with the highest temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.
