Mountainous slide buries houses in Hoa Binh

The National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention held an emergency meeting in Hanoi this morning to direct solutions dealing with ongoing complicated heavy rainfall and flooding.

The latest news showed that a mountainous slide occurrence hit Phu Cuong commune of Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province at 1am today and buried four houses and at least 19- 20 people under gravelly soil due to heavy rain. 

At present, around 400 local people  and Phu Cuong commune joined hand in seeking the missing victims. 

By 7am today, seven victims were found out. 

In past three days, torrential rain and flashflood caused 40 dead and 22 missing in the central provinces of Vietnam.

The National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention said that the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister arrived in Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh to direct the localites to take necessary measures for dealing with the natural disaster.
