Massive cold spell to bring frost in Fansipan

The weather news from the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center showed that the northern region of Vietnam would experience a massive cold front on November 24, 25.

Temperature in the north and central region will continue dropping sharply in next couple days.

Within November 24, 25, temperature in Hanoi and the Red Delta region can keep at 13- 17 degrees Celsius.

Winter cold will bring frost to the country’s highest peak Fansipan on November 24, 25 as the northern region is deep in the cold air mass. 

Vice Director of the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center Le Thanh Hai said that the center has installed a meteorological observing system in Sa Pa town of Lao Cai province to check daily temperature. 

Powerful operation of the ongoing cold spell, east monsoon and heat air are warned to bring medium- heavy rains on the large scale.

In the upcoming days, the rainfall in the provinces from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh will increase at 200- 300 mm, even up to 500 mm. 

Floodwaters in river systems of the central region are alerted at level 2-3, even up to over level 3 in some places.
