Low depression zone enters East Sea

According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, a low depression zone was located at 11- 13 degrees north latitude and 114- 116 degrees east longitude in the East Sea yesterday.

Because of an influence of tropical convergence and low depression zone, the mid and south- East Sea including the Spratly Island, the southern territorial waters from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand have experienced showery weather, thunderstorm, cyclone and strong wind of level 7-8.

Currently, water level on Mekong and Sai Gon River is rising.

In the upcoming days, the water level on Nine Dragon River is warned to increase rapidly because of an impact of flood tide. 

By October 8-9, water level on Tien River (at Tan Chau station) and Hau River (at Chau Doc station) will be measured at 3.7 and 3.3 meters respectively while the water level on Sai Gon River at Phu An station will reach at 0.005- 0.1 meters. 

Flooding is warned to hit lowlands, the riversides in the provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, Long An, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.

Yesterday, the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention asked the steering committee on natural disaster prevention of the provinces from Da  Nang to Kien Giang to eye the on-going weather condition on the sea.
