Landslides, flash floods may hit northern mountainous region: Center

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said heavy rains continued to hit the northern province of Hoa Binh from yesterday until June 5.

The highest rainfall measured at 57.4mm to 103mm.

The center said some areas in the province will continue suffering heavy rains.

Landslides, flash floods may occur in the province's districts such as Ky Son, Lac Son, Luong Son, Mai Chau and Lac Thuy.

The northern mountainous region including Lao Cai, Yen Bai are also experiencing heavy rains.

Water level in the upper reaches of Thao River is rising at 1.5 to 2m due to prolonged heavy rains.

Landslides are forecast to hit the provinces of Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Ha Giang.
