The first rainfall began spreading over the Mekong Delta last night, refreshing agricultural crops as well as lower temperatures after the long- lasting dry season in the region.

The rainfall lasted an hour last night. Farmers desired more rains would sweep through the region, help to cut down heat wave and saltwater influx.
According to weather observation, the cloud and strong winds have blown in the Mekong Delta at daytime so everyone hoped appearance of rains in next days.
At present, water releases from upstream local rivers created fresh water flow towards downstream. Local authorities have called on inhabitants to regulate fresh water and adopt solutions to prevent damages by drought and saltwater influx.
