The forecast agency also identified that this year’s dry season would start from now to July or August. Accordingly, a weak El Nino phenomenon condition is expected to remain with 60-70 percent triggering sea surface temperature in the Nino 3.4 region being higher than annual years and having tendency of gradual increasing.

Because of an impact of the El Nino–Southern Oscillation climate phenomenon, extreme heat is able to hit the western part of the Northern region and the Central regions earlier as expected.

From the second- haft of March, the southeastern provinces are expected to experience sticky days.

This year’s stormy and rainy season in the East Sea has tendency to begin later than same period annually. Around 4-5 typhoons are predicted to impact to mainland of the Central region in December.
