Cold wave to last by February 7

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center reported that a cold air mass began powerfully operating in the north and central regions today.

Because of its influence, both the northern, north- central and mid- central regions have experienced small rainfall and wind of level 3-4 from this evening. 

The dangerous cold and frost are forecast to cover the mountainous provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue. 

 The lowest temperature in the northern delta region is predicted to reache at 8- 11 degrees Celsius and 3- 8 degrees Celsius in the mountainous areas. 

The lowest temperature in Hanoi is measured at 8- 11 degrees Celsius. 

The Gulf of Tonkin including Bach Long Vi Island is expected to see a powerful wind of level 6- 9, big waves of 2-3 meters and sea rough while the northern territorial water of the East Sea including the Paracel Islands experiences wind speed of level 7-10 and see rough. 

The cold wave is expected to last by February 7.
