Cold spell envelops northern region

The mercury has dipped to 1.2 degrees Celsius in Mau Son Mountain, the mountainous province of Lang Son, and 8.2-10 degrees in Cao Bang and Bac Kan. The Red River delta has seen it swing around 11 degrees.

Another northward cold front is moving south and forecast to slam in northern Vietnam by tonight. It will then spread further to the south rendering rains in northern and mid central regions.

Weekend weather will be fine in Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces with temperatures soaring from 18-31 degrees.
