Cold air hits north

According to the National Hydrology Forecast Center, a cold air mass is moving to hit the northern region of Vietnam this evening.

The cold weather is expected to cover over the northern, the north- central and the mid- central provinces.

Because of its influence, small- heavy rain and cold air will hit the areas.

The mid- central region needs to prevent appearance of hail and powerful wind on March 20.

Temperature in the northern and north- central region is warned to drop down at 16- 19 degrees Celsius, at 12- 15 degrees Celsius in the mountainous area.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region experience an extreme heat wave with the highest temperature of 34- 35 degrees Celsius. In next couple days, daytime temperature is expected to reduce slightly.

By this weekend, hot weather is forecast returning the Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region.
