VNese Minister of Foreign Affairs visits South Korea

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh paid an official visit to Republic of Korea (RoK) from December 19- 21.

The visit was made at an invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea Kang Kyung-wha on the occasion of the 25th establishment anniversary of the Vietnam- Korea diplomatic ties.  

Within the official visit framework, Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh received Chairman of the Republic of Korea (RoK)-Vietnam Friendship Association Choi Young-joo, Vietnamese Honorary Consul General in Busan Kyeongnam and in Gwangju  Cheonam, former Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban- Ki- moon; and he visited Vietnam Embassy in South Korea.

At the meeting with Vietnam- RoK Friendship Association President Choi Young-joo, Mr. Pham Binh Minh suggested the association continues paying more attentions as well as carrying out the diplomatic activities via holding exchange program of Vietnamese senior delegation, expansion of cooperation relations, popularisation work, strengthening mutual trade & economy cooperation as well as culture, tourism programs.

Chairman Choi Young-joo pledged to make his effort in introducing image and country of Vietnam, create favorable conditions for Korean investors to invest in the country. 

At the meeting with the Vietnamese Honorary Consul General in Busan and Gwangju, Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh wished the Korean leaders would continue closely collaborate with the Vietnam Embassy in South Korea to actively adopt practical activities in boosting economic cooperation expansion between the two countries in general and between the nations’ localities in particular.

The general consuls affirmed to make best efforts in the economic cooperation between the two countries as well as support Vietnamese community in Korea to stabilize their life, develop the Vietnam- Korea strategic partnership ties.

On the same day, Mr. Pham Binh Minh offered certificate of merit to Kim Beok-dong, People’s Council Chairman of Jongno district, Seoul city with his effective contributions in consolidation and development of Vietnam- Korea friendship relations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh visited officials and staffs of Vietnam Embassy in Vietnam and representatives of Vietnamese community in Korea.
