VNese ambassador in Geneva elected WIPO General Assembly Chairman

The Foreign Affair Ministry of Vietnam yesterday said that World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was opened its 49th meeting at Geneva, Switzerland, electing Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Chi Dung as Chairman of the WIPO General Assembly for 2018-2019.

The meeting was attended with the participation of 191 member countries. 

In the first session of the meeting, Vietnamese ambassador in Geneva Duong Chi Dung was elected.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Cong Tac led the Vietnamese delegation to attend in the WIPO.

The Vietnamese ambassador was a candidate of countries in the Asia-Pacific region, which have not ever been elected as the WIPO General Assembly Chairman for last 12 years.
