The sum of VND350 million (US$15,705) was given to poor residents in Dong Hoi city in the central province of Quang Binh to build new houses.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan gave the amount to needy inhabitants on Oct. 21. Of the amount, Pharmaceutical Company Eco and Sai Gon Tourist Cable Company contributed VND200 million (US$8,974) and VND150 million (US$6,730) respectively.
Before the deputy minister cut the ribbon to inaugurate the international border gate Cha Lo worth VND350 million (US$157,056)
