The Lao delegation was led by Party Secretary and Lord Mayor of Vientiane Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune had a meeting with General Secretary of Party Committee of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong at the Party Central Committee's Office in Hanoi yesterday.

At the reception, the Vietnamese Party Secretary highly appreciated the meaningful visit on the occasion of the 55th establishment anniversary of Vietnam- Laos diplomatic ties, 40 years since the signing Vietnam- Laos Friendly and Cooperative Agreement.
He emphasized the important role of the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation of the two nations; and express thank to the Lao Party, State and people for its cooperation and assistance to Vietnam during previous years.
The party chief highly appreciated good working and cooperative results of the two delegations, the two capitals in previous time; and desired that Vientiane capital continues closely collaborating with Hanoi capital, Ho Chi Minh City and localities of Vietnam to enhance multi- faceted cooperative efficiency, experience exchange about development of Party, political system and socio- economic management from which practically contribute into development of the two parties and countries in the upcoming time.
On the same day, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Vientiane mayor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune at Governmental Palace.
At the reception, the Vietnamese leader appreciated cooperative results between Hanoi and Vientiane capital in recent years, he desired the two localities to continue adopting activities of experience exchange, cooperation and assistance each other.
PM Phuc also stressed that the cooperation relations between ministries, departments and localities are considered as an important factor for boosting cooperation between the two parties and states of Vietnam and Laos.
Therefore, the functional agencies and localities including Hanoi and Vientiane need to be dynamic in building smart, green and beautiful capital.
He hoped that the two sides would strengthen experience share in building and developing capital cities, especially pay much attention to urban planning.
Besides that, the Vietnamese Government and Hanoi capital’s People Committee will make more efforts to contribute in building and developing the neighboring country’s capital , strongly affirmed PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
