VN respects development of strategical partnership ties with Thailand

An official welcome ceremony for President of National Legislative Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand Pornpetch Wichitcholchai was solemnly held at National Assembly House yesterday.

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan chaired the ceremony.

After the welcome ceremony, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and President of National Legislative Assembly of Thailand Pornpetch Wichitcholchai had a talk.

Both sides shared that the comprehensive relationship between Vietnam and Thailand achieved great results in previous years; and hoped that the relationship will continue blossoming in the upcoming time. 

Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan also suggested that the two nations needed to strengthen further mutual collaboration to raise bilateral trade turnover to reach US$ 20 billion by 2020 in parallel to reduce trade disproportion.

Besides that, Vietnam and Thailand should create more and more business conditions for the countries’ investors and enterprises to boost trade exchange and investment cooperation.

Vietnamese National Assembly and Government always create good investment environment as well as encourage Thai firms to invest in maritime tours, textile and garment, footwear, cosmetic, food, agricultural products, Mechanical engineering, chemicals and raw materials..., added Chairwoman Ngan.

The Thai leader strongly affirmed that the country is ready for solving legal difficulties of the nations’ enterprises as well as creating the best favorable condition for Vietnamese investors.   

Remarkably, both two sides should push ahead with negotiations for the signing of a memorandum of understanding on agricultural cooperation, and the establishing of a hot line for fishery activities on sea. 

The countries’ labor ministries should also quickly plan to expand labor cooperation. 

On the occasion, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan thanked Thai Government's assistances for building and administering memorial houses for the late President Ho Chi Minh in Udonthani and Nakhon Phanom provinces.
