VN & Japan boost defense ties

Senior Lieutenant General, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Phan Van Giang had a reception with General Koji Yamazaki, Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force Chief of Staff in Hanoi yesterday. 

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang affirmed that defense cooperation between Vietnam and Japan was effectively adopted in all fields in previous years, including army cooperation between the nations’ ground forces which contributed to strengthen friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan. 

Earlier, Lieutenant General, Deputy-Chief-of-the-General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Pham Hong Huong held a talk with the delegation of Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force. 

At the discussion, both sides evaluated cooperative results and orientations between Vietnam- Japan ground forces; especially in the fields of the United Nations peacekeeping, humanitarian assistance, natural disaster recovery, army medical cooperation, discussion on international and regional situations etc etc…
