VN hosts World Blood Donor Day 2017

The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion yesterday announced that Vietnam would host the 2017 World Blood Donor Day for the first time lasting from June 11 to 16.

The 2017 blood donor day planned to take place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Thua Thien- Hue and Phu Tho with theme of "Give Blood. Give now. Give often".
The organizers said a honoring ceremony of 100 blood donors and anniversary of World Blood Donor Day will be broadcasted live in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City on June 14. 

Head of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion Dr. Nguyen Anh Tri said that the blood donor day attracted the participation of crowded international friends.

Among them, Mr. Floris Langendam from Netherlands has given his blood for nearly 600 times, and President of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunoheamatology Yudhbir Singh who held more than 5,000 voluntary blood donation programs with more than 500,000 participants.
