VN celebrates anniversary of National Day of Romania

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnamese- Romanian Friendship Association yesterday held a ceremony to mark the 99th anniversary of National Day of Romania (December 1, 1918- 2017). 

Speaking at the celebration, Chairman of the Vietnamese- Romanian Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Si Thang highly appreciated great achievements of Romania after ten years since the country has joined in the Europe Union. 

The country’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) increased 6.5 percent in 2016, and is expected to rise up to 6.1 percent this year. 

Currently, the Romanian people has made efforts to catch up with the developing countries in Europe. 

According to Chairman Nguyen Si Thang, the Vietnamese- Romanian Friendship Association in HCMC has had practical activities to deepen the friendship relations between the nation’s people, seek cooperation from business partners, encourage culture, economy, science and technology activities between Vietnam and Romania.  

Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Valeriu Arteni affirmed that the country has supported Vietnam in the wartime and continued supporting training programs for nearly 4,000 Vietnamese cadres before the 1960s

Romania and Vietnam participated in the Francophone Community, ASEM and the EU-Vietnam partnership which open new opportunities for the nations’ bilateral relations, added the Romanian ambassador.
