Vietnamese-German trade exchange reaches US$8 billion

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh stressed that Germany is the biggest and most important trade partner of Vietnam in the EU. Vietnam and Germany relationship has a high potential and is developing in a positive direction since the official visit to Vietnam by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the signing of Hanoi Joint Declaration on the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries in 2011.

Ho Chi Minh City has seen major German projects, such as the Metro Line No.2 construction project, German House, Vietnamese-German University. The trade exchange between the two countries has reached US$8 billion in this year.

The ceremony also included with a special art program performed by the Ho Chi Minh City Art Troupe which received rapturous applause from overseas Vietnamese and international friends.
